According to TASS, on October 14, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin believes that the issue of returning Crimea to Ukraine will not be discussed in any form, including at the Normandy Four summit.

Mr. Peskov responded to the idea of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky raised last week during a marathon meeting with the press in Kiev about discussing the Crimea issue at the summit of the Normandy Four (including Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France).

“As for discussing the Crimea issue in any form – be it Normandy or any other – it is impossible. This issue is not discussed and everyone knows why. Any discussion in any form is impossible,” Peskov stressed.

The Russian President's spokesman noted that the Kremlin is familiar with Zelensky's main statements, in particular, statements on resolving the crisis in southeastern Ukraine and Ukrainian agreements.

“With all due respect, we cannot spend too many hours watching his entire exchange with media representatives. But his main statements were read out and reported to President Putin,” Peskov said.

On October 11, Mr. Zelensky held a 14-hour press conference in Kiev. During this marathon press conference, the Ukrainian leader said he planned to hold a Normandy Four meeting in November and announced plans to discuss Crimea at the summit, as there was no other forum for negotiations on the issue.
