Project 20380 small missile patrol boats are designed to detect and destroy enemy submarines and surface ships, as well as provide landing forces with other tasks in coastal waters.

According to the manufacturer's representative, these new ships are made of new technology composite materials that make them difficult to detect by enemy radar systems.

This new type of ship is 104 m long, 13 m wide and has a crew of up to 99 people, they can reach speeds of up to 27 knots.

What attracts the attention of domestic and foreign experts is their fighting ability.

These small missile patrol boats are equipped with two 30 mm automatic anti-aircraft machine guns, the A-190 artillery system with a 100 mm caliber, the Uran anti-ship missile system, the Redut air defense missile system and the Paket anti-submarine missile system.

In addition, they can also be equipped with Ka-27 anti-ship helicopters.

The appearance of this new type of missile patrol ship will help the Navy strengthen its power at sea. In addition to this project, the Russian Navy is currently implementing projects: small missile corvettes of project 22800, patrol ships of project 22160.

The Project 22800 ships Uragan and Tyfun were laid down at the Pella shipyard in St. Petersburg in late 2015 and are expected to join the Russian Navy in 2017-2018.

These ships will be equipped with high-precision missiles and modern artillery systems. The ships will have a displacement of 800 tons, a maximum speed of over 30 knots and a range of over 1,600 km.

According to the director of the Zelenodolsk shipyard, Mr. Renat Mistakhov, the Russian Navy will receive the first of a total of six patrol ships of project 22160 in 2017.

The ship will be named Vasily Bykov, equipped with an integrated cockpit system and Kalibr cruise missiles.

Project 22160 ships are 94m long, have a displacement of 1,300 tons, a maximum speed of 30 knots, a range of 6,000 nautical miles (about 11,000km) and can operate continuously at sea for 60 days. Thanks to their modular design, these ships can perform many different tasks without taking much time to prepare.
