'Russia is not joking', that is the assessment in the US when talking about Moscow's reaction to Mr. Trump's ultimatum
Russia is neither joking nor bluffing, so its reaction to US President Donald Trump's ultimatum could be devastating - American geopolitical analyst Scott Ritter said on YouTube.
“Russia simply does not play such games. It speaks the language of actions, not empty threats. Moscow is not afraid of sanctions, and its allies are not easily provoked. And if they respond together to the United States, Trump will not be able to deal with it,” said Scott Ritter.

The analyst also expressed doubts about the feasibility of the ultimatum. For example, even the idea of buying weapons for Ukraine, as the US President raised, would not be implemented, because, according to Mr. Ritter, Europe now has no money. “None of what Mr. Trump said will happen,” he emphasized.
Earlier on Monday, US President Donald Trump issued a 50-day ultimatum to Moscow, demanding that it sign a peace deal with Kiev. If the conditions are not met, he threatened to impose 100% tariffs on imports from Russia, along with secondary sanctions targeting countries that buy oil, gas and other energy resources from Russia.
At the same time, the White House boss announced that the US and the EU have reached an agreement on sending US weapons to Kiev, with the costs to be borne by Europe. Future aid will include Patriot air defense systems, not just missiles.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Trump’s plan was essentially a “business deal.” Meanwhile, Europe has said it is ready to spend huge sums on weapons to fuel the war, but within the EU there is disagreement over who will pay. France, the Czech Republic, Italy and Hungary have refused to participate in the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.
