New Alliance
Earlier, Mr. Pompeo called for the formation of a "new democratic alliance" to counter China.
"I would like to reiterate the President's words that Moscow never enters into alliances against someone, we are not friends against someone. And all, be it an integration association or a political association, they are aimed at developing good-neighborly and mutually beneficial relations. Russia does not enter into any alliances against someone. China is our ally, our partner, a country with which we are developing special cooperation," Peskov told reporters.
Demilitarization of space
Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov also commented on Secretary of State Pompeo's statement that Russia is testing anti-satellite weapons in space.
“Today, Russia has always been and remains a country committed to the complete demilitarization of outer space and not to deploy any types of weapons in space,” Peskov told reporters on Friday, advising them to contact the Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry for more detailed comments on the subject.
