Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pledged that Moscow would not launch a war with Kiev, despite increased provocations from Ukraine.
In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda Radio, Lavrov said that Kiev would continue its provocative actions in the border area between the two countries, and that he had information that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was planning to cause a provocative incident later this month.
He declared that Russia would have a tough response in case President Poroshenko went ahead with such plans.
However, the head of Russian diplomacy emphasized: "We will not launch a war with Ukraine", and affirmed that there is no need to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine, because "the Ukrainian people do not deserve criticism".

The Institute for American Studies of the North Korean Foreign Ministry has warned that if the US administration thinks that increasing pressure and sanctions will force Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear weapons program, it will be mistaken and that it will permanently stall the process of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
This is the latest reaction of North Korea after on December 10, the US announced the imposition of sanctions on three North Korean officials, including a top adviser to leader Kim Jong Un, for alleged human rights violations and mistreatment of American citizen Otto Warmbier, who died after returning to the US from North Korea in June 2017.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country is looking to cancel a massive arms deal signed with Saudi Arabia in 2014.
The move comes amid growing criticism of Saudi Arabia's role in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, as well as the war it is leading with a military coalition in Yemen.
Trudeau previously said it would be difficult to withdraw from a contract signed by the previous government without affecting the interests of Canadians. According to Trudeau, Canada has a contract worth 15 billion Canadian dollars to export light armored vehicles to Saudi Arabia.
Canada is exploring options to see if there is a way to stop the export of these vehicles to Saudi Arabia. However, Mr. Trudeau also warned that the penalty for breaking the contract could be as high as 1 billion Canadian dollars.

As of last weekend, neither the French Directorate General for External Security (DGSE) nor the Directorate General for Internal Security (DGSI) had found any evidence of direct Russian involvement in spreading disinformation or false rumors during the Yellow Vest protests, according to the Sunday Review. “At this point, we have no evidence of Russian involvement in the protests. But this is not the final analysis,” the agencies said in a public statement.
