Russia exposes the 'White Helmets' forgery again
A video released by the White Helmets claiming to show a chemical weapons attack in Idlib was quickly removed.
Russia's TASS news agency said the White Helmets volunteer group has released videos of what it says is treating victims of chemical attacks in Syria.
However, Syrian media quickly recognized the fake details and made debunking videos.

In it, White Helmets volunteers are carrying water hoses to pour on people including men and children who are believed to have been affected by chemical weapons.
However, several White Helmets members have been identified as both aid workers and victims in various videos.
A “chemical weapon victim” in one video is treated by having water sprayed on his body and face, and is carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance. But in other videos, he becomes a healthy person running to treat other victims.
"One person, two roles"? |
The video was originally posted on the video-sharing site YouTube but was later removed for violating the site's rules. Other users also shared the video on their personal pages.
Another victim was carried on a stretcher and an ambulance... twice: once with his shirt unbuttoned, once with his shirt buttoned.
The victim... was taken to the ambulance twice. |
The inconsistencies in the videos released by White Helmets are increasingly illogical, contradictory, and... lacking in investment.
In July 2018, more than half of the White Helmets members and their families were evacuated from Syria by Israel at the request of the US, Canada and European countries.
According to Jordan's Foreign Ministry, 422 people have been evacuated to their country, although the initial agreement for the evacuation was for 800. The volunteer group has gained attention in Syria after releasing videos of children being rescued in Syria after alleged airstrikes by the Syrian government.
However, these videos were later exposed as staged, especially the treatment of victims of the chemical weapons attack. The victims in the videos were pulled from the rubble but were able to... take selfies with rescue workers and did not show any injuries or pain.

Syria's SANA news agency said that although the situation in Idlib is gradually returning to normal after Russia and Türkiye reached an agreement, the staging incidents are still aimed at creating an excuse for the US and Western countries to launch missile strikes on Syria once again.
A day earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also said that the al-Nusra Front terrorist group was still supplying chemical weapons to terrorists in Idlib. Ms. Zakharova also warned that a chemical attack could be imminent with the White Helmets playing a role.
Meanwhile, the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria announced on September 11 that it had received information from civilians that opposition forces were filming fake videos of chemical weapons attacks in the city of Jisr al-Shugur in Idlib province.
The Russian military said opposition forces brought two containers of chlorine-based chemical agents to the city to make the plot appear “natural”.
