The Angara-A5 rocket is not designed for manned use. It can carry a payload of up to 24.5 tonnes and could replace the Proton satellite carrier rocket.

Russia has high hopes for the Angara rocket. After several tests, Russia plans to launch all types of space vehicles from its territory to ensure its access to space.

The Angara rocket is one of the priority projects of the country's space industry. The Angara rocket will be used to launch space equipment such as satellites and spacecraft into orbit.
