In the clip, the test missile was launched and attacked “with meter accuracy” a target simulating an enemy command center 200km away. The test was later confirmed to be successful in terms of technical and tactical factors.
Currently, the Iskander-M complex is equipped with two main missile lines: 9M723 and 9M728 cruise missiles, developed on the P-500 missile platform.
Designated as a tactical attack weapon, the Iskander-M missile complex can fire at two different targets within 1 minute. The missile in the Iskander-M complex weighs 3.8 tons and carries a warhead weighing 480 kg. The special feature of this missile line is its ability to fly without a conventional ballistic trajectory, making it very difficult to intercept and the missile is controlled throughout the entire flight.
Iskander-M is a new generation of tactical missiles that will replace the Toska-U (Full Stop) complex. The export version of Iskander-M is equipped with missiles with a shortened range of 280km, while the version equipped for the Russian Army has a range of 500km.
Iskander-M is very effective in destroying enemy fixed military structures such as: airports, warehouses, command centers... Each Iskender-M missile launcher usually carries 2 missiles.
