After the majestic parade celebrating the 24th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution on November 7, 1941 with the participation of about 28,000 people, the Red Army soldiers marched from Red Square straight to the front to defend the capital Moscow during the Great Patriotic War.
The parade included about 5,000 people selected from several companies of the Ministry of Defense, the Presidential Regiment's guards, cadets from military schools, military bands and members of military history clubs dressed in Soviet Red Army uniforms and carrying weapons used during World War II, recreating the 1941 parade as much as possible.
An estimated 12,000 residents of the capital and neighboring cities, as well as foreign guests, were present on Red Square, including veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, who participated in the heroic parade 77 years ago, and representatives of social organizations, youth, and patriotic movements of the capital Moscow.
Traditionally, the Kremlin clock chimes and the song “Sacred War” open the parade. What is special this year is that for the first time in history, the 1941 parade will be recreated, and a replica of the Victory Banner that once flew over the German Parliament, symbolizing the glory and great sacrifice of the Red Army soldiers to destroy fascism, will be carried across the Kremlin wall.
The program ended with a display of tanks, armored vehicles and vehicles that participated in the war, especially the famous “Kachiusa” artillery system that became a symbol of the invincible power of the Red Army.
Immediately after the parade, the military equipment participating in this event will be displayed on Red Square for people to visit and take souvenir photos.
On the same afternoon, at Revolution Square in Moscow, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) also held a march and rally to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Great October Revolution, with the participation of party leaders, deputies of the Russian State Duma (Lower House), youth organizations, women's associations and other left-wing social movements.
Marchers carried banners reading “Glory to the Great October”, “Socialism is the future of mankind”, “Power belongs to the people”...
Many other cities across Russia also celebrate November 7, officially known as “Soldier's Glory Day."
In the city of Penza, hundreds of communist party members, youth union members and people participated in a march under the red flag, laying flowers next to the monument to leader VILenin on the square of the same name.
