According to RIA Novosti, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference after the ASEAN events on July 11 that the rhetoric of Germany, France and Britain shows that European leaders want war with Russia.

“The recent statements and actions of Berlin, Paris and London show that the current political class, which came to power in these and a number of other countries, has forgotten the lessons of history, forgotten the conclusions that the whole world has learned from these historical lessons,” Foreign Minister Lavrov said.

Mr. Lavrov stressed that the current European leaders are ready to push Europe once again into a no-hybrid war with Moscow.

Earlier, on July 10, speaking at ASEAN, Foreign Minister Lavrov said that Russia would take into account the militarization process being carried out in Europe in all areas of its plans. Mr. Lavrov also called statements that Russia posed any threat to Europe completely meaningless.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg quoted a close source on July 11 saying that the European Commission is ready to provide Slovakia with guarantees in exchange for preventing a new package of sanctions against Russia.

“Slovakia is seeking concessions in its plans to wean the EU off Russian gas. The bloc’s executive is willing to offer the country some guarantees if it lifts its veto,” Bloomberg said.

Meanwhile, Greece, Malta and Cyprus have so far been reluctant to support Russia's oil price cap without the support of the G7 countries, including the US.
