Russia: NATO poses threats and risks to the world
NATO's actions pose threats and risks to the entire modern world, said Dmitry Novikov, First Deputy Head of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma.

According to Mr. Dmitry Novikovvi - a Russian parliamentarian, the desire to weaken this military alliance is natural, not only for Russia but also for other countries with healthy thinking.
“Why should we not want NATO to weaken if it clearly threatens us? If it still exists after the Warsaw Pact has dissolved. If it, instead of reducing its military potential, is constantly increasing it,” Dmitry Novikov said.
Mr. Novikov added that NATO continues to move military bases closer to the borders of the Russian Federation and demonstrate its aggressiveness. However, Russia's deliberate actions against the organization are also problematic. He explained that there are many rumors and elements of information warfare on the subject of the country's policy towards the alliance.
“Conceptually, NATO has no right to exist after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact,” the parliamentarian concluded.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden accused Russia of aggressive actions against the West, as well as of wanting to weaken NATO and the "European project". However, he added that he did not want to return the world to a state similar to the Cold War era. According to him, the United States' desire is for a world in which everyone can determine their own path of development without the threat of using force.
