Russia foils terrorist plot during victory parade over fascism
A plot to cause an explosion during the "Immortal Regiment" parade in Moscow was discovered and prevented by Russian security agencies.

Federal Security Service of Russia (The FSB (Federal Security Service) has thwarted a terrorist attack targeting the Immortal Regiment parade marking the 73rd anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in Moscow on May 9.RTtoday quoteRussian Deputy Foreign MinisterOleg Syromolotov.
"Some groups plotted to cause explosions during the parade.were arrested. They also prepared weapons to act" - heSyromolotov, who was in charge of the FSB's counterintelligence department, said.
"Immortal Regiment" Paradeis a patriotic initiative initiated by Russia, in which thousands of people in many cities will take to the streets carrying pictures of relatives who fought against fascism in World War II.
FSB agents also carried out 17 searches in the West.Siberia, where the terrorists were hiding, arrested 20 people. Within 5 days from April 21 to 24, Russian security forces arrested 26 terrorists.
This is not the first time terrorists have attempted to attack the Immortal Regiment parade in Russia and other regions. Last year, Russian security forces foiled a similar attack.
About a million people took to the streets of Moscow on May 9 to celebrate Victory Day, with about 10 million people taking part in other cities.
