It should be noted that before destroying an enemy UAV, Vogan must receive the corresponding command from the operator who makes a decision based on the images from the drone's camera.

Russian experts have developed a single-use Vogan-9SP combat drone to intercept enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by detonating their payloads, a spokesman for the Red Line company told TASS at a conference on UAV detection and countermeasures technology, the TASS news agency reported on July 1.

The four-propeller aircraft can accelerate to about 200 km/h and operates with a radar station and a laser system to illuminate detected targets, the spokesman said.

“The ‘go’ command is given and the drone, which is mounted on a 45-degree mount, lifts off from the launcher, approaches the target at maximum altitude and receives automatic orientation from its own guidance system at the last moments. It approaches the target at maximum altitude and detonates its payload in the front part of the drone,” the person explained.

He added that before destroying an enemy UAV, Vogan must receive corresponding orders from the operator, who makes decisions based on images from the drone's camera.

“Its goal is to precisely intercept kamikaze drones that come here with bad intentions,” said a company spokesman.

He said the anti-drone system is currently being tested and experts are now working on an upgraded quadcopter that can accelerate to more than 250 km/h.

According to TASS, the conference entitled: 'Technology of detecting and countering drones' is taking place in St. Petersburg on July 1 and 2. The conference is organized by the RuDrones Center for Competence in Unmanned Aircraft Technologies and co-organized by the Vektor Research Institute (part of Ruselectronics JSC, part of the state technology corporation Rostec).
