According to the Russian Defense Ministry, many of the new military equipment in the parade had been tested on the Syrian battlefield. For the first time, the parade included drones, mine-detecting robots that were used by the Russian army in the Syrian cities of Palmyra and Aleppo, and an unmanned tank.
Important new equipment participating in the parade also included the Terminator tank designed for use in war zones, which can be equipped with nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction, along with a MigG-31 supersonic interceptor carrying high-precision Kinzhal missiles.
Last March, President Putin introduced the Kinzhal missile system in his state-of-the-nation address, saying it could “outperform all current equipment and, I think, penetrate any future air defense and missile defense systems.”
In addition, participating in the parade aircraft fleet were a pair of Su-57 stealth fighters, a 5th generation fighter jet that is said to have been tested in Syria./.
