Russia's Techmash corporation will present a new cluster bomb with significantly improved accuracy and range parameters at the Army-2017 international military arms exhibition, Tass reported on August 17.
"The PBK-500U SPBA-K cluster bomb will be one of the main products announced by Techmash. It can destroy armored vehicles, ground radars, command centers and power stations in enemy air defense systems," said a Techmash representative.
According to the manufacturer, aircraft equipped with PBK-500 U will not have to fly into areas with enemy air defense systems; instead, the bomb will hover several dozen kilometers and attack the target with a self-guided warhead with high precision.
In addition to the PBK-500U, Techmash also displayed the RPG-30 anti-tank round that can destroy current and future tanks, including versions equipped with defense systems as well as active explosive reactive armor.
