Russia ready to discuss nuclear arms reduction with US

Besides, Morozov emphasized, "For Russia, sanctions have never been 'pressure' to force Russia to comply with any conditions."

Previously, in an interview with The Times of London newspaper, US President-elect Donald Trump expressed his wish that the nuclear arsenals of Russia and the US "be significantly reduced"."The United States has imposed a lot of sanctions on Russia, let's see if we can make good deals with Moscow. One thing is for sure, I think the nuclear arsenal needs to be significantly reduced," he said.

According to arms control experts, the United States and Russia currently possess equal amounts of nuclear weapons, each with more than 7,000 warheads.

In 2010, Russia and the United States signed a landmark arms agreement to limit nuclear warheads and missile launchers.
