Russia to sell 5 S400 systems to India in nearly $10 billion deal
Russian President Putin has arrived in New Delhi to attend the 19th annual Russia-India summit and is likely to witness the signing of military deals between the two countries worth nearly $10 billion.
Experts say the visit, which will last only 24 hours, could have long-term implications for India-US relations.
On October 5, India and Russia are expected to sign three major military deals including five S-400 missile defense systems worth more than $5 billion, four stealth frigates and an agreement on Ak-103 rifles made in India.
Putin is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 5 for a "working breakfast", followed by delegation-level talks.
The two leaders are expected to witness the signing of at least 23 agreements on investment, space cooperation, transport and business.
The two sides will also discuss cooperation in the nuclear power sector and possibly the Afghanistan issue./.
