Mr Peskov stressed that bargaining with the US over Crimea was impossible, and that there would be no further referendum in Crimea. Earlier, Crimean leader Sergei Aksenov declared that the unipolar world model had collapsed after Crimea was annexed by Russia.
During the election campaign in October 2016, US President Donald Trump declared that if he won, he would be willing to consider recognizing Crimea as part of Russian territory and canceling sanctions against Moscow.
Crimea was annexed to Russia following a referendum held on March 16, 2014. Kiev refused to recognize the results of the referendum, while Moscow insisted that the annexation procedures were in full compliance with international law.
