Russia increases most modern tanks to defend Crimea
The 126th Tank Brigade of the Coast Guard in Crimea has received the latest T-72B3M tanks, Izvestia reported, citing a Defense Ministry source.
The T-72B3M is one of Russia's most modern tanks. Its arsenal allows it to engage both ground and air targets. The military says that with the help of guided missiles, the combat vehicle can also shoot down enemy landing helicopters, while its automated control system allows it to destroy enemy landing craft and even small boats.

To counter the growing military threat
As former Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ordzhonikidze explained to Izvestia, the southwestern direction now needs to be fortified.
“This is the direction in which NATO countries have been actively creating tensions both politically and militarily in recent years,” the diplomat said.
As an example, he cited the large-scale Sea Breeze exercise and the phenomenon of military formations and infrastructure of alliance member countries moving closer to Russia's borders.
“This is a serious military threat, we need to pay attention to protecting our borders, protecting the territorial integrity of the country. In these conditions, strengthening the forces in Crimea is of particular importance,” Ordzhonikidze concluded.
