Russia kills 120 IS militants and 60 mercenaries in Syria

The Russian Defense Ministry said a terrorist command post and up to 80 militants, including nine born in the North Caucasus, were destroyed in the Mayadeen area, adding that around 40 IS militants were killed around the town of Abu Kamal. The foreign militants killed were from the former Soviet Union, Tunisia and Egypt.
Earlier, Russian airstrikes near the town of Abu Duhur, northwest of Syria's Idlib province, also destroyed a large underground weapons depot belonging to the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group, a jihadist coalition led by the Al-Nusra Front, formerly the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda. The airstrikes also killed 49 militants. Notably, among them were 7 leaders of the Al-Nusra Front branch operating in eastern Syria.
The government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has coordinated with Russia to conduct large-scale airstrikes in Idlib province to hunt down terrorists after an attack by jihadists on September 18 this year on security forces deployed in neighboring Hama province.
