Russia kills two IS members in the South
Two IS militants were killed and three Russian security forces were injured in a shootout in the republic of Dagestan.

Russian security forces (FSB) opened fire and killed two gunmen who were holed up in a house in the village of Endirey, Khasavyurt district, on the outskirts of Dagestan. The gunmen were linked to the activities of the IS terrorist group, according to information from the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAK).
Russian security forces cordoned off the area and evacuated residents from surrounding homes. Two FSB officers and a national guard were injured in the shootout, but there were no civilian casualties.RIA Novostireport
RTThe two terrorists killed by Russian security forces were locals, aged 19 and 29. "They killed several civilians, including one in Toturbiykala in 2017 and an imam in the village of Mutsalaul this year, and were responsible for a mosque bombing and the desecration of a prominent cleric's grave," NAK reported.
The republic of Dagestan is one of the hotbeds of Islamist extremists in Russia. According to authorities, at least 55 people have been killed in terrorist-related incidents in Dagestan this year.
Last week, the FSB and other Russian armed forces detained sleeper cells of the terrorist organization Jama'at Al-Tawheed wal-Jihad (JTJ) in the Tomsk region as they were planning to kidnap family members of Russian pilots on duty in Syria.
