A senior NATO diplomat told the Financial Times that the US does not expect a major air strike in Ukraine anytime soon, but intelligence suggests that more than 80% of Russia’s air force is combat-ready.
“We believe that Russia is preparing to launch a major air campaign,” the NATO official added.
It was previously reported that Ukraine and the West were expecting a new Russian offensive in February, which could lead to the eventual seizure of control over the territories of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR).
