Russia-China-US will create a new world order in the next 2 years
The head of the Institute of China and Modern Asia believes that China, Russia and the United States will together create a foundation for a new world order model.
According to RIA Novosti on June 23, Kirill Babaev - Director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia (ICSA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with RIA Novosti, predicted that Russia, China and the US will be able to create a new world order model within the next 2 years.
"I predict that in the next two years, Russia, China and the United States will lay the foundations for a new multipolar system of international relations, a new system of global governance," said expert Babayev.
Regional powers are now very important, he added, noting that “the interests of key players such as India, Iran, the Arab world, ASEAN, Latin America and Africa must be taken into account.”
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that the US's NATO allies have agreed to increase defense spending by up to 5% under pressure from US President Donald Trump.
"NATO members agreed on June 22 to significantly increase defense spending to 5% of gross domestic product, as requested by US President Donald Trump. The deadline in the final text is 2035. This target will also be reviewed in 2029" - Reuters said.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has refused to commit to achieving the target, Reuters added, adding that Madrid's stance could lead to a scandal involving the White House boss at the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague this June.
Previously, Politico reported that the organizers of the NATO summit in The Hague, scheduled to take place from June 24-25, decided to shorten the program so as not to test the patience of US President Donald Trump.
