Russia releases evidence accusing the US of violating INF

The Russian military has released satellite images of a Raytheon plant where preparations for the production of missiles banned under the INF agreement have been underway for the past two years, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Photo taken on December 3, 2018, shows the factory covering an area of ​​about 9.5 square kilometers.²According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the complex includes three operational production units and one still under construction, as well as a testing area, power station and semi-underground storage facility.

Images released by the Defense Ministry via RT show several facilities under construction. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, these buildings will be used to expand the production capacity of the complex.

In June 2017, Russia said that Raytheon had begun preparations to develop and produce medium- and short-range missiles banned under the INF at its facility in Tucson, Arizona.

In November 2017, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the US Congress had allocated $58 million to the Pentagon for the research and development program of a ground-launched medium-range missile.

In fact, Washington chose to leave the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty several years ago and spent this time developing banned weapons, the Russian Defense Ministry said on February 2, according to RT.

According to Russia, the US has been preparing to produce medium- and short-range missiles banned under the INF for the past two years.
