According to TASS, on September 26, Mr. Mikhail Ulyanov, Director of the Department for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said at a press conference that Moscow has evidence that terrorists used sarin poison in the Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun last April.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. There is a lot of evidence that terrorists detonated bombs containing the chemical agent sarin as a provocation," Mr Ulyanov said.

He also said that experts refused to go to the site of the April 4 chemical attack in the town of Khan Sheikhoun, even though the security situation there allowed it.

According to the Russian diplomat, this "caused outrage" because no members of the investigative mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) or experts from the Joint Investigative Mechanism team of the OPCW and the United Nations went to Khan Sheikhoun or the Shayrat airbase.

At the same time, Mr. Ulyanov also said: "The OPCW/UN Joint Investigative Mechanism Team on Khan Sheikhoun and (airbase) Shayrat will publish its report on October 26. We will study this report, assess its quality and consider the seriousness of the investigation. After that, we will be able to draw conclusions"./.
