Russia claims to have found a cure for all cancers

Russia could bring to market a drug tested in space that cures all types of cancer, even in the late stages.

"Our method is based on heat shock proteins. These are molecules that are synthesized by every cell in the human body when it is attacked," Andreï Simbirtsev, deputy head of the Russian Institute of Biomedicine, told Izvestia.

According to RT, scientists have long recognized the existence of heat shock proteins, but only recently discovered their ability to help the immune system identify cancer cells in order to respond promptly. Mr. Simbirtsev explained that the amount of natural heat shock proteins in the human body is very small, and Russian researchers have tried to find a way to synthesize them and have achieved success. Tests on mice with malignant tumors showed that heat shock proteins are effective at all stages of the disease without any side effects or toxicity.

With the aim of studying all the properties of heat shock proteins in the best conditions, the Russian Biomedical Agency also conducted experiments in the space environment. "This experiment was carried out in 2015. We packed the purified protein into small tubes and sent them to the international space station," Mr. Simbirtsev revealed. After 6 months, when the crystallization level was reached, the protein samples were transferred to ground research laboratories in Russia and Japan.

Patients are expected to have access to the heat shock protein drug in the next three to four years after researchers complete all testing.
