See the masterpieces of the blind American artist
(Baonghean.vn) - John Bramblitt is a blind American painter, famous for his breathtakingly beautiful oil paintings.
American painter John Bramblitt lost his sight when he was only 8 years old, and he became completely blind due to epilepsy when he was 30.
He couldn't see anything around him but he could still feel the lights.
Just like that, he escaped from depression and created impressive drawings.
John has established his own signature style: he blends oil paints into distinctive tones based on how he interacts with the senses, and applies texture to guide the canvas.
2001 was a turning point in John's career as an artist.

The first time I drew, I never thought it would be as precise and complex as the drawings when I could see them. |

When I get out of my comfort zone, I think the eyes really only do two things for an artist - they help determine where to paint on the canvas and they help identify different colors. |

All the paint bottles and tubes in my studio are embossed, and when I mix my colors I use ratios like I would in cooking. In other words, I calculate the different parts of each color that make up a desired color. It's like using a recipe to bake a cake. If you use the right ingredients in the right proportions, the result will always be the same. |

In the art shows I participated in, I never told anyone that I was blind. I didn't tell people I was blind not because I was ashamed, but because I didn't want it to affect the way they appreciated the art. |
Blindness can be a dead end for any artist. But not John Bramblitt. The loss of sight actually helped him discover his hidden genius and develop his remarkable talent.
