The World Bank launches a poverty index map for Vietnam.
The World Bank has just launched the MapVietnam website to provide journalists, policymakers, researchers, and the public with information on the socio-economic situation at the provincial and district levels.

At this addresswww.worldbank.org/mapvietnam/This map will provide diverse information about Vietnam that would be difficult to grasp simply by looking at aggregated statistics. Users can choose to view indicators on poverty, employment, infrastructure, school attendance rates, sanitation, and nutrition. Users can also download basic datasets from the website.
During the press conference, World Bank representatives also introduced a source providing access to over 2,000 sets of statistical data on various development topics, covering a reporting period of up to 50 years.

Previously, these data sets were subject to a fee, but now, interested parties can access them completely free of charge at http://data.worldbank.org/. This site contains approximately 7,000 different indicators from over 200 countries worldwide.
This open data page also allows users to choose to access the database directly, selecting by country, subject, or index.
