(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnamese women's football team is participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup finals for the first time. Sharing with the press, midfielder Ngan Thi Van Su said that the whole team is very excited about the 2023 Women's World Cup finals.

In preparation for the Women's World Cup finals in New Zealand and Australia this coming July, the Vietnamese women's team has continued to have tactical training sessions at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

Currently, the whole team is in good spirits and relaxed. “My teammates and I are still preparing well for the 2023 Women's World Cup. This week, the team had two friendly matches on Friday and Saturday with the 2023 SEA Games veteran team and the US Embassy team,” Ngan Thi Van Su shared.

Since May 26, the Vietnam Women's Team has started practicing with the official match ball for the 2023 Women's World Cup. Talking about the OCEAUNZ ball, Van Su said: "I also heard my teammates say that the new ball is quite hard and the ball's trajectory is uncomfortable, but the whole team is gradually getting used to the new ball. Although they have not fully adapted to the new ball, they have achieved about 90% success."

"The upcoming match with the German team is also difficult to predict. For me, Germany is like the Philippines, with a tall physique and a strong physical source. Coach Mai Duc Chung always tells the whole team that, with a smaller physique, we must be fast and have good technique to pass people when facing stronger teams. I will also try to be on the list of participants in the Women's World Cup finals. The whole team is excited, because this is the first time Vietnamese women's football has participated in this arena," Van Su added.

The 2023 Women's World Cup will take place from July 20 to August 20, 2023, in Australia and New Zealand.

The draw results put the Vietnamese women's team in Group E, facing the Netherlands, the United States and the winner of the first play-off. Vietnam's group will take place in New Zealand.

This is the first time the Vietnamese women's team has qualified for the Women's World Cup. Huynh Nhu and her teammates are one of six Asian representatives at this tournament, along with China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and co-host Australia.
