At that time, reporter Nguyen Anh Hieu (Vietnam News Agency Television - VNews) was filming the fire that occurred in this building. Mr. Hieu was standing on the sidewalk in front of the lobby of Building B of VP5 apartment building. Suddenly, a man about 35 years old, wearing shorts and a dark purple shirt, approached and asked Mr. Hieu to show his documents.
Because the man was in plain clothes and not a member of the authorities, reporter Hieu refused the request. However, the man immediately took Hieu's video camera and brought it inside the lobby of the building.
Some colleagues, upon discovering the act of obstructing work, asked this man to explain, but they only received vulgar and challenging words. Immediately after that, the middle-aged man also left the scene.
The incident was reported to Hoang Liet Ward Police as well as Hoang Mai District Police. That same night, the police made a record and took statements from witnesses.
The case is still being investigated./.
