Hundreds of gifts to teachers and students in disadvantaged areas

The program of giving gifts to educational institutions in disadvantaged areas on the occasion of Lunar New Year has become an annual cultural beauty of the education sector. This year, Con Cuong is the first destination with 60 gifts for poor students, 30 gifts for teachers from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools in the district and two high schools Con Cuong and Muong Qua.

Receiving Tet gifts for the second time on this occasion, teacher Van Thi Phuong Thao - equipment library staff of Con Cuong High School could not hide her emotions: I think I have received a lot of favor from the education sector this year. More than 2 weeks ago, I participated in the Tet Sum Vay program organized by the Department and the Education Trade Union and received support gifts. This time, the working group came to my school and received attention and support. These Tet gifts not only came early but also helped me a lot to be able to cover more expenses for the upcoming Tet holiday.

Teacher Van Thi Phuong Thao is one of 5 teachers of Con Cuong High School to receive Tet gifts from the education sector this time.
Teacher Tran Doan Xuan - Vice Principal of the school said: All 5 teachers of the school have special circumstances. Among them, Ms. Thao has two young children, has congenital cerebral atrophy, every few months has to go to Hanoi for treatment, which is very difficult. Other teachers have children with biliary atrophy, some have wives who have had accidents and are unable to work; some teachers work as clerks, with a monthly salary of only a few million VND...

Despite the difficult conditions, the teachers still love their jobs and are dedicated to their profession. This Tet gift is a great source of encouragement for the teachers to overcome adversity.

On this occasion of Tet, 19 poor and near-poor students of Ky Son High School also received Tet gifts from the Department of Education and Training. Holding a small gift worth 500,000 VND, student Lau Ngau Dung, class 12C2 said that he was very happy because this was the first Tet gift he had received. Dung's family lives in Tay Son village, Nam Can commune, is a near-poor household with many children. Having left his family to go to town to study high school, Dung is currently staying with friends near the school.

This year is also Dung's last year at this school. Currently, Dung is dreaming of passing the entrance exam to the University of Education, majoring in Foreign Languages, and the gift will give him more motivation and determination to make his dream come true.

Gratitude to educators, caring for education in mountainous areas

Implement the policy“Tet for the poor– Giap Thin year 2024”, the education sector organized gift giving at educational institutions in disadvantaged areas earlier than previous years. Attending the gift giving sessions were leaders of Con Cuong, Ky Son, and Tuong Duong districts. The program was also accompanied by the Fund for Vietnamese Stature - TH Group and Vietinbank Vinh branch.

In these 3 districts, the delegation presented 180 gifts to students and 90 teachers working at the schools. The value of each gift ranges from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND. This year, in addition to primary, kindergarten and secondary schools, the education sector also visited and presented gifts to high schools.

Although the support gift is small, it also shows the concern of the industry and the benefactors. Through that, we hope that teachers and students will have a Tet full of love and warmth and welcome the New Year with lots of joy and motivation to try harder.

Talking with teachers, the Director of the Department of Education and Training also expressed gratitude to teachers who sacrificed and devoted themselves to the cause of education in mountainous areas; and expressed gratitude to parents who, together with the school, took care of the children, encouraged them to study diligently, be good, and make progress.

Reviewing the results that Nghe An's education sector has achieved in recent years, the Department's leaders also said that compared to many other localities, the quality of education in mountainous districts still has many gaps.

To do that, the head of the education sector hopes that high schools and other levels of education in the area will constantly strive to improve, expand their knowledge, and strive to learn to know and to be creative.
