Nghe An Transport Industry offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs
(Baonghean.vn) - This is a meaningful activity, organized annually by the Department of Transport of Nghe An province, before the Lunar New Year, to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs - the cadres, workers and employees of the industry who sacrificed for the national traffic artery, for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
On the occasion of welcoming the Spring of Canh Ty 2020, on the afternoon of January 20, the Nghe An Transport sector led by comrade Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Transport, offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Le Canal Memorial, the Road 7 - Truong Ke Martyrs' Cemetery and Truong Bon National Historical Site.

The delegation visited and offered flowers and incense at the Le Canal Memorial in Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District. During the resistance war against the US, the Le Canal was a vital waterway with important strategic significance. 130 cadres and workers in the Transport sector sacrificed their lives here.
Respectfully bowing to the noble sacrifices of the heroic martyrs, the members of the delegation vowed to never forget the great contributions of the previous generation, determined to excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party and State to be worthy of the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.

Next, the delegation offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Road 7 - Truong Ke Martyrs Cemetery, My Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District. The cemetery is the resting place of 454 martyrs of the Transport sector who died during the resistance war against the US.
The delegation members lit incense sticks, offered fresh flowers, and expressed their respect to the souls of the brothers and sisters who did not hesitate to shed their blood and sacrificed their youth to keep the roads open, serving the resistance war to save the country, regaining independence and freedom for the nation.

Continuing the tradition of "Leading the way", Nghe An's transport sector has made constant efforts to build transport routes connecting the lowlands to the mountains, shortening the distance between the plains and the highlands, contributing greatly to the cause of socio-economic development, maintaining security and national defense in Nghe An.
In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Bon National Historical Site, My Son Commune, Do Luong District.

During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon had a particularly important strategic position, connecting the traffic arteries from the great rear of the North, providing human resources, weapons, and food to the battlefield in the South.
Truong Bon has become a heroic relic, marking the glorious victories of our army and people, including 1,500 officers and soldiers of 9 Youth Volunteer Companies of the Youth Volunteer General Team of Nghe An province.

Especially the feats and sacrifices of 13 soldiers of the Steel Squad, belonging to the 317th Youth Volunteer Company on October 31, 1968 while on duty to reconnect the traffic arteries.
Transport sector officials through the ages respectfully offered incense sticks at the common grave of 13 heroic martyrs and youth volunteers who sacrificed their lives at Truong Bon and the Truong Bon Martyrs Memorial House.

Commemorating and showing gratitude to the heroic martyrs of the transport sector is an activity organized by the Nghe An Department of Transport every year on the occasion of Spring and Tet. Through this, it aims to express gratitude and educate revolutionary traditions to generations of cadres and workers.
