Ensuring timely travel needs of local people during the Lunar New Year with thoughtful, civilized, and safe service quality, taking 100% of passengers home to celebrate Tet with their families... is the goal set by the Nghe An Transport Department during the Tet holiday.

(Baonghean.vn) -Ensuring timely travel needs of local people during the Lunar New Year with thoughtful, civilized, and safe service quality, taking 100% of passengers home to celebrate Tet with their families... is the goal set by the Nghe An Transport Department during the Tet holiday.

It is expected that during the Lunar New Year 2013, the number of passengers will increase by about 10%, with more passengers from the Southern and Northern provinces to Nghe An than from our province to other provinces. After Tet, the number of passengers from the districts and major cities will gather in Vinh to travel to other provinces and cities across the country. Therefore, the Transport Department has organized a plan to welcome and transfer passengers in a timely manner and is currently mobilizing all means to serve passengers returning home for Tet.

In the city, there are 2 bus stations that will attract many passengers, Vinh bus station and Vinh market bus station. At these stations, some passenger transport routes will increase 4-6 times compared to normal days and during the days before Tet, there will be an increase of more than 500 trips/day with over 12,000 passengers. Therefore, there is a possibility of overloading. To overcome this situation, the bus stations will organize to pick up and transfer passengers reasonably. Before Tet, the Department of Transport will focus on transporting passengers from the provinces to Nghe An and from Vinh city to districts and towns in the province.

Transport businesses at Vinh Bus Station are ready to promptly serve passengers' travel needs.

Mr. Huynh Duc - owner of the Vinh - Hanoi fixed route transport company, said: The company will strictly comply with the requirements of Vinh Bus Station Joint Stock Company, which is not to transport passengers beyond the regulations, run on time, ensure safety, provide civilized and thoughtful service and will serve passengers until the 29th of the Lunar New Year. It is known that at Vinh Bus Station Joint Stock Company, during the Tet holiday, it will receive and transfer about 420,500 passengers and Vinh Bus Station has a specific plan with businesses to ensure passenger transport.

Mr. Pham Dinh Tram - Head of the General Planning Department, Department of Transport, said: An advantage for passenger transport during the Tet holiday this year is that although the number of passengers has increased, it is still timely, because the number of vehicles has increased by 5% and the number of seats has increased by 13% compared to the Tet holiday last year. Currently, there have been 30 more vehicles and 430 seats, these are new passenger transport vehicles with high load capacity, which will contribute to satisfying the needs of people traveling on the routes during the Tet holiday.

It is known that currently in the province there are 950 passenger cars running on fixed routes and 942 taxis. These means of transport are mobilized to serve people traveling during Tet and transport businesses have plans to mobilize additional vehicles when the number of passengers increases suddenly... With efforts to meet people's demand for cinnamon for Tet, the transport sector is determined not to let customers miss their way home for Tet due to lack of means of transport.

The time for vehicles and bus stations to close for Tet is from 3pm on the 29th of Tet to the end of the 1st day of Tet. At Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market Bus Station, there are 1-2 reserve passenger buses to serve Tet. After Tet, from 5am on the 2nd day of Tet, there will be 68 passenger buses running on the intra-provincial routes to Nghe An, inter-provincial routes to Ha Tinh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hue, Da Nang and on the 3rd day of Tet, the bus station will operate normally to serve all fixed routes within and outside the province and will increase to 250-315 trips per day.
