(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 19, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired a meeting with Nghe An Customs Department on key tasks in implementing import-export activities and tax policies for import-export goods in the area.

Also attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Xuan Dai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Secretary of the Party Committee of provincial agencies and leaders of departments and branches.

The report of the Customs Department shows that: Although in recent years, the situation of production, business, import and export, immigration (XNK,XNC) has not been really vibrant, but with administrative reform policies, actively accompanying businesses, Nghe An Customs Department coordinated with functional forces to successfully complete the task of controlling import and export goods, effectively preventing smuggling.

In 2016 alone, there were 14,110 customs declarations from enterprises, an increase of 3,620. Export turnover reached 796.66 million USD, an increase of 28.2%. Total budget revenue is estimated at 1,100 billion VND, equal to 113.4% of the plan assigned by the Ministry of Finance, an increase of 9.2% compared to 2015.

» 2020: Nghe An strives to export goods to 120 countries and territories

In 2016, Nghe An Customs also organized forces to fight and clarify 120 cases of smuggling and trade fraud. Post-clearance inspection was strengthened, thereby detecting and collecting more than 3.1 billion VND for the budget after customs clearance.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and branches expressed many opinions clearly analyzing the actual situation in the seaport area and the road border gates. Currently, in the Cua Lo Port area, there are still fishing boats entering the port area; Cua Lo Port is also not qualified for large tonnage ships to load and unload export containers.

Some opinions suggested that the Customs sector should further strengthen coordination, urge enterprises to focus on import and export activities, advise the province to propose appropriate solutions, promote production, business and export development; in which, enhancing the capacity to load and unload goods, especially containerized goods and speeding up the construction of other ports in the province play an important role in connecting socio-economic development.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh acknowledged the efforts of Nghe An Customs, and suggested some orientations in training and arranging staff, and at the same time the sector needs to strengthen coordination with departments and branches to create the best conditions for businesses in importing and exporting goods. Cua Lo Port is being invested in the direction of an important international port, so in the coming time, Nghe An Customs needs to coordinate more closely with units in professional work.

The Provincial Party Secretary suggested that every month and every quarter, the Provincial People's Committee should organize the following sectors: Customs, Statistics, Planning and Investment, Finance and Tax to report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the reality and solutions to support enterprises in developing production, business, and import and export. In particular, the Customs sector needs to proactively connect with enterprises, find more positive solutions to create the most favorable conditions for exported goods, thereby supporting enterprises and increasing revenue for the budget./.
