June 15: Analog TV channel coverage stopped
Head of the Steering Committee for the Vietnam Television Digitization Project - Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son decided to adjust the time to stop analog terrestrial television coverage in 4 centrally-run cities including: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho.
According to this Notice, in order to ensure timely and extensive information and propaganda work to serve the political tasks of the Party and State during the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term (May 22, 2016), Head of the Steering Committee for the Vietnam Television Digitalization Project - Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son decided to adjust the time to stop broadcasting analog terrestrial television in 4 centrally-run cities including: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho. Specifically, from June 15, 2016, broadcasting of the following television channels will stop: VTV6, H2, VTC9 in Hanoi; VTV6, VTV9, VTC9, HTV7 in Ho Chi Minh City; VTV6, VTV Can Tho 1, VTV Can Tho 2, VTC9 in Can Tho.

All analog terrestrial television transmitters located in Binh Duong province (except those of Binh Duong Radio and Television Station) will stop operating according to the plan to stop analog terrestrial television coverage in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to this announcement, the time to stop broadcasting all analog terrestrial TV channels in the above 4 cities will be considered and announced by the Steering Committee later.
Previously, the expected time to stop broadcasting some channels as mentioned above was March 1, 2016 and the time to stop broadcasting all remaining analog terrestrial TV channels in the four cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Can Tho was expected to be implemented by the Steering Committee of the Vietnam Television Digitization Project from June 1, 2016.
