(Baonghean.vn) - Tomorrow (October 17), rain tends to decrease, but on October 18 and 19, under the influence of a new cold front, many localities will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain.

Mr. Tang Van An - Head of Hydrometeorological Forecasting Department - North Central Hydrometeorological Station said: Today and tonight, there will be heavy and very heavy rain in the province. It is forecasted that the rain will decrease by tomorrow, October 17. However, by the evening of October 17, a cold air mass will strengthen, so on October 18 and 19, heavy rain is forecast to continue, but the amount of rain will not be as large as the rain on October 15 and 16.

"With heavy rain like today, there will be severe flooding in Vinh City, low-lying areas in the delta and coastal districts," Mr. An added.

Information at 9:30 this morning, in the southern Nghe An and Ha Tinh areas, there was heavy rain, some places had very heavy rain. Rainfall at automatic rain gauge stations in the past 3 hours (from 06 - 09:00/16/10) in Vinh: 156mm, Hung Nguyen: 111mm, Cho Trang: 97.0mm, Yen Thuong: 57.0mm, Duc Long: 40.8mm.

In the next 1-3 hours, Nghe An and Ha Tinh will continue to have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall from 20-50mm, in some places over 70mm.

In the next 1-3 hours, there is a risk of flash floods, landslides and flooding in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. There is a high risk of flooding in Vinh City, Nam Dan, and Hung Nguyen.
