According to the Ministry of Education and Training's regulations, July 31st is the deadline for universities and colleges to announce exam results. The minimum passing scores for each exam group will be announced before August 10th. After that, the universities will announce the official admission scores, which must not be lower than the minimum passing scores.
On July 30th, universities and colleges continued to announce exam results:
Hanoi University of Education.According to Mr. Nguyen Van Trao, the Vice Principal, the average score for Group A exams increased by about 2 points. The scores of candidates in basic subjects such as mathematics and chemistry increased most significantly. Therefore, it is expected that the cut-off scores for the mathematics and chemistry departments will increase by at least 2 points or more.
Hanoi Pedagogical University 2Although no projected cutoff scores have been released yet, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen, the school's principal, said that the average exam scores of candidates applying to the school this year have increased by about 2 points compared to last year.
Hanoi Law University.Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Head of the Training Department, said that the expected cutoff score for Block A this year is 22.5, an increase of 4 points compared to last year. Block C is expected to be 22.5 points, an increase of 2 points compared to last year. Block D1 is expected to be 20, the same as the cutoff score in 2012.
Hai Phong University of MedicineIt is also expected that this year's cut-off scores will likely be 2-3 points higher than last year.
Logistics AcademyThe expected cut-off score is about 4-5 points higher than in 2012. The cut-off score for male military students this year could be 23.5.
Pham Ngoc Thach University of MedicineThere are still many additional admission quotas. Among the more than 5,000 candidates who took the exam, 1,353 achieved a score of 21.5 or higher (excluding priority points). Meanwhile, the university's undergraduate quota this year is only 960, and for the general medicine program alone with 800 quotas, 851 candidates achieved a score of 23 or higher, while the cutoff score in 2012 was 21.5.
For the nursing program, with a target of 160 students, 186 candidates scored 18 or higher, while the 2012 cutoff score was 14.5. Therefore, the cutoff scores for these two programs will increase compared to last year. For the two newly opened programs, medical technology and medical laboratory science, the number of applicants was low, so the school had to consider additional applications. However, applicants to these programs must have permanent residency in Ho Chi Minh City.
University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City)The school's enrollment target is 1,700. Preliminary statistics show that the entire school has 1,841 candidates who scored 20 points or higher (before applying any weighting factors and without considering priority points). When determining the admission score, the school will apply a weighting factor of 2 to the math score for all three blocks A, A1, and D1. Therefore, candidates with high math scores will have a higher chance of admission than those with the same total score. In 2012, the cut-off scores for the school's majors, after applying the weighting factor of 2 to the math score, ranged from 22 to 30 points.
Ho Chi Minh City University of IndustryThe expected cut-off scores for each major have been announced. Specifically: Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (E&E) 16; Electronic and Communication Engineering Technology 15; Thermal Engineering Technology 14; Mechanical Engineering Technology 15; Mechatronics Engineering Technology 15; Automotive Engineering Technology 16; Garment Technology 15; Computer Science 14; Chemical Engineering Technology 17.5; Environmental Engineering Technology 17; Food Technology 18; Accounting 14.5; Finance and Banking 14.5; Business Administration 15.5; English Language 16.5 (English subject must achieve a minimum of 5 points); E-commerce 14.

The cut-off scores for Accounting, Business Administration, and Finance & Banking will decrease compared to 2012. Last year, the cut-off score for these majors was 17. The remaining majors are expected to have cut-off scores equal to the minimum passing score.
Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics and TechnologyThe expected cut-off score for admission this year will be equivalent to the minimum college entrance score set by the Ministry of Education and Training. The school reserves 60% of its quota for supplementary applications (approximately over 1,000 places) with an admission score equal to the minimum score.
