(Baonghean) - Vinh City, Nghe An province, currently has nearly 20,000 passenger cars, ranking 6th in the country in terms of the number of automobiles. Owners of motor vehicles in Vinh City have a great need for useful knowledge on car care and maintenance. Therefore, BVOT Group Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Bridgestone Vietnam, 3M Vietnam, and Liberty Insurance Vietnam, is organizing a Tire Care and Vehicle Maintenance Day on October 18, 2014, at B-Select Van Do - 7 Mai Hac De Street, Vinh City.

According to the World Health Organization, Vietnam has the highest traffic accident rate in the world, with an average of 30 deaths per day due to traffic accidents, causing significant losses in terms of human lives and property for individuals, families, and society as a whole. Many drivers lack sufficient knowledge about tires and safe vehicle maintenance. Specifically, 33% of drivers operate vehicles with underinflated tires. This is the main reason why the Tire Care and Vehicle Maintenance Day is being widely implemented in major cities across the country (the first event was held in Da Nang).

Since 2013, Bridgestone Vietnam has organized a series of programs called "For the Vietnamese Automotive Community" in 5 major cities nationwide, with 9 notable events, achieving great success. Through these programs, over 2,800 customers attended, and nearly 1,500 vehicles received comprehensive care and maintenance from leading engineers at Bridgestone Vietnam's Automotive Hospital and its partners.

On June 15, 2014, the first Tire Care and Vehicle Maintenance Day at B-Select Bich Hien - Da Nang City was successfully held. This event showed that car owners were very satisfied with the comprehensive vehicle care and the necessary knowledge they received about tires.

Vinh City is the economic and cultural center of the North Central region and a place with a strong development of road motor vehicles. Vehicle owners have a great need for useful knowledge in car care and maintenance. Therefore, to meet this demand, the Organizing Committee, in collaboration with other organizations, implemented the Tire Care and Maintenance Day program at B-Select Van Do, No. 7, Mai Hac De Street, Vinh City. On October 18, 2014, at B-Select Van Do, customers had access to in-depth vehicle inspection, care, and maintenance methods, applying high technology from leading companies in the automotive and supporting industries. Forty customer vehicles in Vinh City received tire inspections, consultations, and pressure adjustments from Bridgestone Vietnam and B-Select specialists. Notably, all customer vehicles underwent wheel alignment checks using the most modern technical equipment in Vietnam.

The General Director of Bridgestone Vietnam, the Director of the Auto Hospital, and Van Do Co., Ltd. donated 10 million VND to the Agent Orange Victims Fund of Hung Binh Ward, along with funds collected from customers to help and support victims of traffic accidents.

Participating as co-organizers of the program, in addition to topping up coolant and windshield washer fluid, experts from the Auto Hospital helped customers better understand the overall condition of their vehicles through electronic fault scanning using a scanner. Furthermore, customers attending the event also received accurate answers from Liberty Insurance regarding the steps to take in case of roadside incidents or accidents.

Sharing his thoughts on the event in Vinh City, Mr. Hiroyuki Saito, General Director of Bridgestone Vietnam, said: “Based on updated statistics, we recognize the need to further enhance customers' knowledge and experience in properly and timely vehicle and tire care. In keeping with the philanthropic spirit throughout the "For the Vietnamese Automotive Community" program, the organizers of the Tire Care and Maintenance Day in Vinh City this time also donated all the money collected from participating customers to help underprivileged children who are victims of traffic accidents in Nghe An. Each gift, worth 5 million VND, was given to two children, Le Cong Giap from Quynh Luu district, Nghe An, and Nguyen Thi Hiep from Nghi Loc district, Nghe An, right at the event. In addition, B-Select Van Do also donated 10 million VND to the Agent Orange victims' fund in Hung Binh ward, Nghe An.
