(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 8, at Chom Lom village, Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong, a national solidarity festival took place, commemorating the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam United Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2015). Comrade Vuong Quang Minh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Comrade Luong Van Tuat - Deputy Head of the Religious and Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front attended the festival.
Chom Lom village is located on the left bank of Lam river, is home to 194 households, 706 people, 100% of whom are Thai people. The income of the people is mainly based on agriculture. In addition to rice cultivation, recently the people are developing a sugarcane raw material area with 22 hectares, growing cassava to increase their income. The average income per capita is currently nearly 10 million VND/person/year. In the village, there are 7 students studying at colleges and universities across the country.

According to Mr. Loc Dinh Thi, head of the village front work committee, Chom Lom is now an area without drug addiction, and bad customs such as dowry demands and leaving the dead in the house for a long time have been abolished. There is no longer the phenomenon of getting drunk at wedding parties. However, the village still faces certain difficulties such as difficult transportation, and the level of village leaders is not high because they have not been properly trained.
At the Great Unity Festival of Chom Lom village, representatives of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province presented 18 gifts to poor households and outstanding families in the village, planted souvenir trees in the grounds of the village's community cultural house; and presented a great unity house of the Fatherland Front Committee of Con Cuong district to Mr. Luong Van Hau's family.
