Tomorrow (May 12) opens the 2023 Lotus Village Festival

At 8:00 p.m. on May 12, the opening ceremony will take place at Ho Chi Minh Square.Lotus Village Festival2023 and the "Sen Village Mother" art program on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan's birth and the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Party, State, leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, Military Region 4, neighboring provinces; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes.

The Sen Village Festival is held annually on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, an important cultural event to honor and show gratitude to Uncle Ho. At the same time, it is an opportunity to promote to the whole country and international friends the image of a dynamic, friendly Nghe An, always open to many opportunities for cooperation and development.

The 2023 Lotus Village Festival takes place from May 12 to 19, with many exciting and meaningful activities concentrated in Vinh city, Nam Dan district and Cua Lo town. In addition to solemn and sacred rituals, this year's festival is rich and diverse with activities in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.

Highlights include the Lotus Village Singing Festival with the participation of more than 600 artists and actors from 21 mass art troupes from districts, cities and towns; Vi and Giam folk song performances and art performances to serve the people; Special exhibition on Uncle Ho; "Uncle Ho in the hearts of Nghe An youth" contest; Provincial volleyball and traditional martial arts tournament; Culinary contest to prepare dishes from lotus; folk games associated with Uncle Ho's childhood activities in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district; Cua Lo hot air balloon festival 2023; Street festival program with the theme "Homeland in lotus blooming season" with colorful cultural performances, cultural heritage and art.

The highlight of the Festival is the art program “The Mother of Sen Village” tomorrow evening (May 12), taking place simultaneously in Vinh city and Hue city, where beloved Uncle Ho and his family lived for nearly 10 years during his childhood, to honor the profound human qualities and values ​​of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan and President Ho Chi Minh.

Besides, there is a special art program "From Sen Village to the city named after Ho Chi Minh" expressing the respectful sentiments of the Party Committee, government and people from the city named after Uncle Ho on the occasion of his birthday in the closing ceremony on the evening of May 19./.
