Tomorrow (October 29), the Workshop 'Developing Nghe An to 2020 in the spirit of Resolution 26' will take place.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 28, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Economic Institute to hold a press conference to introduce the Workshop "Developing Nghe An to 2020 in the spirit of Resolution 26 - NQ/TW of the Politburo".

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of provincial Departments and branches.

The press conference was jointly organized by the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Economic Institute.

At the press conference, comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the workshop is very important; to comprehensively evaluate the results of 3 years of implementing Resolution 26 - NQ/TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing Nghe An province until 2020; contributing to finding effective solutions for the development of Nghe An in the coming time.

Resolution 26 - NQ/TW sets out the general goal for Nghe An province to continue to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization, strengthen solidarity and unity, promote internal strength, attract all resources to strive to become a well-off province in the Northern region by 2015; create the foundation by 2020 to basically become an industrial province that is a center of finance, trade, tourism, education - training, science - technology, health, culture, sports, high-tech industry of the North Central region; have a synchronous infrastructure system; gradually modernize; improve the material and cultural life of the people, a healthy culture imbued with Nghe An identity, strong national defense - security, social order and safety are ensured.

Comrade Nguyen Van Do - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment gave a general assessment of the results after 3 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo.

After 3 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo, the province's outstanding results in the implementation of Resolution 26 focus on the following areas: Development and economic restructuring; construction of key infrastructure and planning management; administrative reform associated with investment attraction and business development; building Vinh city into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region; building new rural areas, developing the socio-economy of the West and results of cultural and social development.

Overview of the press conference

At the press conference, the Organizing Committee also introduced the participants of the workshop, including representatives of leaders of ministries, central agencies, scientists, managers, economic experts from major research institutes in the country. On the side of Nghe An province, there are comrades who were former provincial leaders through the periods; current provincial leaders and leaders of provincial departments, agencies, localities and enterprises, organizations, and business associations operating in and outside the province.

Attending the workshop, delegates will focus on contributing ideas on the following issues: Nghe An in the new development context and the issues raised; solutions for developing industries in the province; attracting investment, developing Nghe An and building new rural areas, developing Nghe An tourism in the North Central region; building Vinh City into the center of the North Central region...

The comments of the delegates at the workshop aimed to evaluate the results that Nghe An has achieved, the shortcomings, limitations, causes, and lessons learned after 3 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo in all areas; continue to analyze the advantages and difficulties of Nghe An in the development process. At the same time, propose breakthrough solutions to implement the Resolution in order to successfully carry out the directions, goals, and tasks of Nghe An's development until 2020.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thong - Head of the Representative Office of the North Central Region Today Rural Newspaper raised the issue of policies for farmers after their land was recovered for project implementation.

After listening to the Organizing Committee introduce the workshop, the reporters raised issues of concern such as: Attracting investment for economic development of the province, budget revenue and expenditure, social security policies for farmers after land acquisition for the project... and were thoroughly answered by representatives of the provincial leaders.

The workshop will take place tomorrow, October 29, 2016.
