(Baonghean.vn) - Van Mon village (Nga My district – Tuong Duong province) has over 80% of its population being O Du ethnic people. This is the "second home" of this ethnic minority group. Since relocating from Kim Da commune (in the Ban Ve hydroelectric reservoir), with the attention and investment of the Party, the State, and local authorities at the district and commune levels, the lives of the O Du people here are changing for the better.
Currently, the people of Van Mon village are successfully implementing the criteria of the national target program for building new rural areas, and their lives are becoming increasingly stable.

The village has 91 households with 414 inhabitants. Currently, only 63 households remain classified as poor. This is a remarkable achievement thanks to the villagers' efforts to improve their lives. Since moving to this new location (2006), despite facing many difficulties, the villagers have quickly adapted and chosen the right path. Currently, the villagers mainly cultivate upland rice, but many other crops such as cassava, mahogany, and acacia have also taken root, yielding high economic returns. In addition, the village is also promoting the cultivation of elephant grass to ensure a food source for livestock.
