November 6, 1975:The Ministry of National Defense decided to convert the Engineering Battalion into an Engineering Regiment under the Navy Command, with the code name Regiment 131. This is a special milestone, for the first time the Navy has an Engineering force at the Regiment level to meet the mission requirements of the Vietnam People's Navy in new conditions.

November 6, 1979:Construction of Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant on Da River started. Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant has a capacity of 1,920MW, average electricity output of 9.5 billion/KWh, considered the project of the century of the country, the largest in Southeast Asia, is the main power source, plays the role of regulating capacity, voltage and frequency most effectively of Vietnam's power system at that time.

November 6, 1816:Birthday of French revolutionary poet Eugène Pottier. He was the author of the lyrics of The Internationale - the song of struggle of workers all over the world. He died in 1887.

November 6, 1822:French chemist Claude Louis Berthollet died. He was born in 1794. He discovered the bleaching properties of sodium hypochlorite (commonly known as Javen water), and proposed the law of reversible reactions between salts, acids and bases.

November 6, 1860:Abraham Lincoln became the first Republican candidate to win a United States presidential election.

November 6, 1893:The famous Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky passed away. He was born in 1840 in Russia. His famous works for ballet: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and the opera Eugene Onegin.

November 6, 1965:Cuba and the United States formally agreed to airlift Cubans who wanted to come to the United States. By 1971, 250,000 Cubans had gone through this program.
