Nghe An: 1,200 people participate in the 14th 'Red Sunday' voluntary blood donation festival

The 14th "Red Sunday" voluntary blood donation campaign in 2022 attracted over 1,200 officials, civil servants and people to participate.

Over the years, the number of donated blood units in Nghe An has always exceeded the target, however, the amount of blood used for emergency and treatment is still in short supply, especially during the summer and Tet holidays. Red Sunday is organized to provide enough blood for emergency and treatment for patients who unfortunately have to be hospitalized during the Lunar New Year of Nham Dan 2022.

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long emphasized: "Over the past 13 years, Nghe An has been a locality that has implemented the "Blood Donation Festival" very well, especially the "Red Sunday" program organized annually, which has contributed positively to emergency care and treatment of patients. Although the epidemic situation is complicated, the province still considers blood donation to save lives as a necessary action and has important significance in the work of disease prevention and control as well as life. We call on you because donating blood to save lives is your life and mine, and at the same time request the Office of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to coordinate with departments, branches, districts, towns, and schools to continue organizing blood donation campaigns. Departments and branches need to further promote the voluntary blood donation movement among the people".
