Since the beginning of 2022, the impact of rising fuel prices and other difficulties has affected the fishing industry, especially fishing at sea. However, most fishermen in the areaNghe AnMany solutions have been applied to stay at sea and maintain the fishing industry. Therefore, the fishing output in the province is still high.
According to the Department of Fisheries, the output of aquatic products caught in October reached nearly 18,600 tons, with an estimated value of more than 436 billion VND. Of which, marine exploitation reached more than 18 thousand tons, equal to 9.41% of the yearly plan, equal to 102.74% compared to the same period last year; inland exploitation reached 658 tons, equal to 13.16% of the yearly plan, equal to 103.62% compared to the same period last year.
Calculate the total of the first 10 months of the yearfisheries exploitationreached over 173 thousand tons, with an estimated value of over 4 trillion VND. Of which, marine exploitation reached over 167 thousand tons, equal to 91.98% of the yearly plan, equal to 102.68% compared to the same period last year, inland exploitation was approximately 6 thousand tons, equal to 119.6% of the yearly plan, equal to 104.23% compared to the same period last year.

Currently, the whole province has more than 3,400 fishing vessels, of which the number of fishing vessels operating in the offshore area is 1,221, accounting for 0.352%. Nghe An fishermen exploit seafood mainly by: gillnets, seine nets, purse seine, trawl nets and line fishing. Among these occupations, the seine net fishery has the highest yield, the main products are pelagic fish (anchovies, mackerel, silver carp, herring...), followed by purse seine, trawl nets, gillnets and line fishing.
