Nghe An: 18 border villages establish sister-country and cooperate with Laos
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 5, in Vinh City, the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An Province held a conference to evaluate the work and organization of the association.
Attending the conference were comrades: Vu Trong Kim - Vice Chairman, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province and representatives of branches under the Central Association, provinces and cities of Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association.
In 2015, the activities of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association continued to affirm the role of the organization, contributing to strengthening the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Laos.

Particularly for the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province, in the past year, the districts on both sides of the border have had 18 pairs of twin villages to help and share in many aspects. Every year, the association has coordinated with the Border Guard Command, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and universities in the area to organize many exciting and meaningful activities, deepening the steadfast solidarity between the two countries.

In the coming time, the association's activities will be promoted with 6 specific goals and directions: Continuing to promote education and propaganda, especially for the young generation of the two countries, about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos; organizing activities to celebrate the National Day of the Lao PDR (December 2, 1975) and the traditional Bunpymay New Year; promoting activities to help, sponsor, visit and exchange with Lao students studying in Vietnam; promoting educational cooperation activities, training human resources to help Laos; economic, cultural, scientific and technical cooperation activities, tourism... between the two countries and localities of the two countries.
At the conference, members shared many experiences in building, consolidating, developing the Association and the Vietnam - Laos people's friendship activities. On this occasion, the conference also reported on additional personnel; negotiated additional personnel for the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association.
