(Baonghean.vn) - On the 27th of Tet, beef and some seafood prices skyrocketed in the days leading up to Tet. However, pork prices tended to decrease.

According to the reporter's records, on the morning of December 27, at Roc market, Trung Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), grade 1 beef was priced at 300,000 VND/kg, an increase of 60,000 VND/kg compared to a week ago; only pork prices did not increase, currently thigh meat was priced at 150,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 10,000 VND/kg compared to 15 days ago.
Mr. Nguyen Van Anh, a specialist in slaughtering cows and pigs in Nam Thanh commune, said that near Tet, beef prices will increase, but on the contrary, pork prices will decrease.
In Vinh City market, good quality beef is sold at markets for 300,000 VND/kg, an increase of 40,000 VND compared to December 25. Ms. Chu Thi Huong - a customer in Ha Huy Tap said that 3 days ago she bought beef for 260,000 VND/kg, but now it has increased, so she bought early and saved 40,000 VND/kg.
Regarding pork, traders said that the current price of pork has increased by 10,000 VND/kg, up to 150,000 VND/kg, but it is difficult to sell and consumption is slow.
Seafood, especially mackerel, prawns... also increased quite strongly. At Lach Van fishing port (Dien Chau), on the morning of December 27, boats were bustling back to the dock, traders bought more seafood than usual.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, a seafood trader, said: In general, seafood prices increased slightly, only mackerel and prawn increased the most, from 150,000 to 180,000 VND/kg, prawn from 550,000 to 650,000 VND/kg, however, prawn is rarely caught by fishermen.

Old fisherman Nguyen Ba Luan in Dien Ngoc commune was excited: Although this trip only caught 60 kg of various seafood, including 12 kg of squid, but with high prices, the profit is high. He said: Tonight we go out to sea until noon on December 28 and then take a break for Tet. Thanks to the increase in seafood prices, this Tet my family will have some income to cover Tet expenses.
Mr. Ngo Xuan Thuy - Port Manager of Lach Van Fishing Port said: Near Tet, the prices of some seafood products increased, of which mackerel and prawn increased the most, squid prices increased slightly, but this season is not squid season so squid output is low.
