Nghe An: 3 people in a family died after drinking wine soaked from forest plants
(Baonghean.vn) - After drinking medicinal wine soaked in forest plants together, 3 people in a family died. Another person is in critical condition and is being treated at the hospital. The incident happened in Cha Lan village, Huu Lap commune, Ky Son district (Nghe An) on the afternoon of March 12, 2018.

Cha Lan is a village of the Khmu ethnic group. The victims include Moong Van Di and his wife Lo Thi Van, both born in 1978, and his younger brother Moong Van Muoi (also known as Tue, born in 1984). The fourth victim, Lu Van Kham, Di's brother-in-law, is in critical condition.
Mr. Moong Van Thin (born in 1945), the father of the victims Di and Muoi, said he was at home when he heard the bad news. It was around 2 p.m. Before that, the four victims had been drinking together at Di's house. The alcohol the group drank was soaked in a type of forest plant.
After discovering the incident, the victims were taken to the Ky Son District General Hospital, about 15km away, for emergency treatment. However, 3 out of 4 people died. Victim Lu Van Kham was transferred to a higher level hospital for further emergency treatment.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Lo Van Tang - Chief of Huu Lap Commune Police said that the victims were discovered and taken to the emergency room but died at around 4:30 p.m. The victims have now been handed over to their families for funeral arrangements. "The families of the victims did not request an autopsy," Mr. Tang added.
The wine bottle has also been seized by authorities to serve the investigation.
It is known that Mr. Di and Ms. Van are in a particularly difficult situation in Cha Lan village.
