Regarding the collapsed tin mine area, according to a representative of Chau Hong commune, this is an area where a mining enterprise used to operate. However, this area has been closed and mining activities have stopped for about 3 years now.

Regarding the cause of the tunnel collapse, the initial determination is that it may be due to the lack of mining activities in this area for a long time, the support column systems and mountain soil were weathered, when there was an impact, the tunnel collapse occurred.

The Suoi Bac tin mine area is about 700m above sea level. In recent years, there have been many violations of laws on mineral exploitation and the environment.
