Nghe An: 360 students participate in the national-level online English Olympiad.

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, April 11th, at Vinh University of Technology, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the national-level "Internet English Olympic" competition for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Overview of the opening ceremony

This year, Nghe An province has 360 participants in the online English Olympiad across three grade levels (grades 5, 9, and 11), with 120 students in each grade. According to the Department of Education and Training, this is the largest number of participants in Nghe An province's history (last year, the total number of participants across all three grades was only 120).

The 5th grade team from Ha Huy Tap 2 Primary School (Vinh City) participated in the competition.

The contestants participating in this competition had to go through selection rounds at the school, district, and provincial levels. Localities with a large number of participating contestants include Vinh City and the districts of Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, and Yen Thanh… Among the high schools, Quynh Luu 4 High School had 14 students; Le Viet Thuat High School had 8 students; Do Luong 1 High School had 7 students; and Hoang Mai High School had 7 students. The competition took place in just one session, according to the schedule for all three grades as follows: Grade 11 students competed from 8:00 to 8:30; Grade 5 students from 9:00 to 9:30; and Grade 9 students from 10:00 to 10:30.
